Sie studierte Kommunikation am Peace College in Raleigh, wo sie summa cum laude abschloss und als Studentensprecherin bei der Abschlussfeier 2002 auftrat, bevor sie nach Los Angeles zog, um als Assistenz von Schauspielerin Emily Procter zu arbeiten und ihre Comedy-Karriere zu starten.
